Compassion Fatigue

Caring too much can hurt. When caregivers focus on others without practicing self-care, destructive behaviors can surface. Apathy, isolation, bottled up emotions and substance abuse head a long list of symptoms associated with this secondary traumatic stress disorder.

Please join us as Shelley Simon, L.C.S.W., of the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, shares how  learning to  recognize and manage it's symptoms are the first steps to healing so that we can provide quality compassionate care to those we serve.  

This  meeting is open to current OHPCA members agencies and their staff.  Please verify your agencies membership status prior to attending.

All attendess must purchase lunch in exchange for use of the facility.  So makes plans to join us for a great meal and discussion.
